GOAL

Raising awareness on plastic pollution in the sea among the younger generation by combining creativity and environmental education.

A sea of plastic: we are the solution

Plastic pollution in the sea is a serious problem that threatens the health of the planet and most of its inhabitants including, and not least, humans. The #Batti5 project has raised awareness on this issue among the younger generation, building on international best practices, including through collaboration with organizations such as One More Generation (OMG) and membership in the Plastic Awareness Coalition.

The project is developed in three phases:

#Batti5

1. LESSON

A time of interactive education, during which the environmental damage caused by plastic and, in particular, its impact on animals are explained. Simple solutions that each of us can adopt in our daily lives are also introduced, with a focus on education on responsible plastic use.

#Batti5

CLEAN UP

The second phase consists of collecting plastic at the beach. This is when children actually realize how much plastic there is on our beaches and how, however, this problem is matched by concrete action that each of us can take.

#Batti5

3. ART

A workshop in which children turn collected plastic into art to give waste a second life. Educational panels are prepared, illustrating the plastic problem and the solutions that can be taken to limit it. A message that becomes a push to make a difference by reducing single-use plastic consumption.
