Our lives depend on the sea and the future of the sea depends on us, yet a tiny percentage of the Blue Planet is effectively protected today.

Worldrise has always been distinguished by its positive approach to addressing sea issues, and it is our firm belief that the health of the sea and people can be concretely and effectively protected through an ecosystem approach, in which different levels of society join forces toward a common goal.

The opportunity to help spread awareness about the importance of the sea

Ocean Ambassador

corporate employees will be trained on an ad hoc basis by Worldrise marine biologists to receive all the necessary tools to spread knowledge on ocean-related issues. In this way, they will be able to independently implement future outreach initiatives, targeting company stakeholders or local schools and/or communities.

A special experience to make an active contribution to scientific research

SEAtizen Science

Citizens and scientists collaborate in research activities to generate new evidence-based knowledge. Participants will experience a day as marine scientists, contributing significantly to data collection and biodiversity monitoring activities critical to the health of the sea.

A recreational and educational full immersion on the trail of marine biodiversity

Biological beach walk

The activity, accompanied by Worldrise’s team of biologists, allows us to learn about the sea from what the sea itself returns along the beach. As in an open-air museum, we will observe and learn about beached marine organisms as well as man-made products useful in identifying anthropogenic impact.

A unique opportunity to do training and strengthen internal relations

Clean up

An engaging cleanup activity from the beach, preceded by an introductory seminar, presented by our expert outreach and marine scientists, and followed by a classification of the waste collected, identifying its environmental impact as well as daily actions to change course.

An alliance with nature

Through sustained and effective collaboration with companies, we generate a positive impact on the Blue Planet through the development of specific KPIs and the execution of a structured and targeted action plan on several SDGs of the 2030 Agenda, starting with Goal 14 “Life Under Water”, which is to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources.

Over the years we have collaborated with numerous companies by implementing partnership initiatives of all kinds:

BioNike

In this new phase of the UN MARE DI STELLE partnership, BioNike is supporting a new Worldrise project in its debut: SEAtizen Science, which promotes active community participation in scientific data collection.

AXA

For four consecutive years, the Worldrise science team has trained a total of nearly 90 AXA employees who have become Ocean Ambassadors. Indeed, the goal of the project is to spread knowledge about the sea to engage new generations in the change needed to save our Blue Planet.

With Mare D’Amare, together with [ comfort zone ], we recovered more than 300 kg of abandoned or lost nets from the seabed of the Marine Protection Area of Capo Mortola, In Liguria, to revitalize marine biodiversity.

AXA Cuori in Azione

Thanks to the support of AXA Hearts in Action and in collaboration with Reef Alert Network, Portofino AMP and Abyss Cleanup, we recovered 1 km of fishing lines and over 30 hooks abandoned in the deep sea.

North Sails

To inaugurate our No Plastic More Fun project in the city of Milan, we held Blue Night with the support of Ocean Family Foundation and North Sails.

Adidas

On the occasion of World Ocean Day, 100 manhole covers in Milan were decorated with the words “The Sea Starts Here” together with Adidas, reminding us that every action and every gesture we make even in the cities, far from the sea, has consequences on our Blue Planet.

LUCE BEAUTY by Alessia Marcuzzi

Worldrise and Luce Beauty joined forces to raise awareness about the problem of plastic in the sea. The sale of products from “The Clean” line made with natural ingredients and in bottles made of recycled and recyclable materials supported beach cleanup actions.

Thanks to both national and international projects and collaborations activated over the years, we have acquired a deep knowledge of the dynamics of various areas related to the protection of the marine environment and different levels of society. Our constantly growing commitment has allowed us to establish ourselves as a reference organization on the national territory and the only one with a background at the same time broad and deep, capable of leading Italian society toward the systemic change necessary for the future of our Blue Planet.
