Ocean Positive People

Worldrise is a non-profit organization that has been working for over a decade to effectively conserve the Italian seas.

We are Ocean Positive People: fostering positive change that (re)connects people to the sea, raises awareness about the ocean’s importance, and translates into collective commitment to its preservation.

Worldrise dreams and strives for a world where people are (re)connected to the sea and actively engaged in its conservation

Together, we are a powerful Triblù, capable of making the difference for the future of the sea.

European Commission

The Representation of the European Commission in Italy is our partner in several projects: in 2022, they entrusted us with the task of implementing the network of European Blue Schools in Italy, and in 2024, in collaboration with the EUROPE DIRECT centers, we jointly organized the scientific outreach tour “A Sea of Centers: Together for the Future of the Sea”, with a focus on the 30×30 goal.

UNESCO

UNESCO-IOC has chosen us as the main partner for the launch in Italy of the United Nations Decade dedicated to Marine Sciences for Sustainable Development. This initiative aims to mobilize scientific community, governments, private sector and citizens around a program common agenda of research and technological innovation.

Med Sea Alliance

We are part of Med Sea Alliance (MSA), a major international network working to protect the Mediterranean Sea. Through our mission, we adhere to the goals of MSA and being part of the network we have the opportunity to participate in international marine conservation projects with a focus on the Mare nostrum.

CBD, UNEP and ECOSOC

We are an observer NGO for the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and are officially accredited by UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and ECOSOC (Economic, Social & Cultural Committee of the General Assembly).

We are also part of international networks for the Mediterranean, such as the Mediterranean Blue Economy Stakeholder Platform, belonging to the Union for the Mediterranean, and global networks such as the Global Waste Cleaning Network.
We also fall under important international youth networks such as the Global Youth Biodiversity Network and the Y20.

international partnerships

The Worldrise team has collaborated and collaborates as scientific advisors to several projects in international cooperation, providing its expertise on the issues of the sea and its preservation

MOVHERS – Girl Move Academy

Worldrise has been selected as one of the mentors for the MOVHERS digital women’s leadership program, in which young female changemakers from around the world will pitch their projects to solve global problems and complex challenges. Worldrise’s goal is to support them with solutions that meet Sustainable Development Goal 14 of Agenda 2030.

Interactions

The unparalleled beauty of nature and its inexhaustible power, capable of generating flora and fauna with staggering biodiversity. On this theme is based Interactions, a collective film produced by the NGO ART FOR THE WORLD in which Worldrise collaborated as a partner in scientific advice.

European Blue Schools

The Network of European Blue Schools is an initiative of the EU4Ocean Coalition, with the support of the European Commission, which aims to engage schools in a pathway to the ocean through networking and the development of educational projects.
Worldrise promotes the initiative throughout Italy, creating various educational projects for schools and guiding them on the path to joining the network.
